Vizrt Shows New Real-Time HD, 3D Graphics

The next-generation 2.2 Viz-Trio series of real-time 3D and HD-compatible broadcast graphics-- Vizrt's flagship character generator--allows for the simultaneous creation of 3D and HD graphics and animations by multiple clients in a broadcast environment. In addition to a set of creation tools, it also features ""Look Ahead Transition Logic" for what the company says is a higher level of efficiency (and time savings) during production.

Transition Logic allows operators to send new graphics pages to air without overlapping or mismatching with pages already on-air. Users can stack arbitrary pages and automatically create seamless transitions using one video output channel. Vizrt plans to display its next-generation 2.2 Viz-Trio at Broadcast Asia 2005, which starts June 13. (Some NAB2005 attendees may recall 2.2's presence in Las Vegas, too.)

A more basic system soon available is the Viz-Trio NV. With the exception of video input capability, the NV features the same capabilities of the flagship Viz-Trio--including support of all HD-SD formats, a 3D authoring system, and a Viz Engine for rendering. Vizrt says other NV features include video out with adjustable buffering capability, local preview capability, and an intuitive interface.
