Thorsteinson Named President of Harris' Broadcast

Harris Corp. has named Timothy E. "Tim" Thorsteinson president of the company's Broadcast Communications Division. The 15-year veteran of the broadcast industry had been serving as president of the Leitch Technology business unit of the Harris Broadcast Communications Division. Thorsteinson replaces Jeremy C. Wensinger, who was named group president of integrated systems and services for Harris Corp.

"Tim is well known and highly respected within the broadcast industry," said Howard L. Lance, chairman, president and CEO of Harris. "... He has a proven track record of operational success within the industry and a vision that will keep Harris at the cutting edge of product innovation and customer responsiveness. ..."

Thorsteinson, 52, joined Leitch Technology Corp. as president and CEO in November 2003. Prior to joining Leitch, Thorsteinson was vice president of Grass Valley products for Thomson Broadcast and Media Solutions, where he was responsible for the Broadcast product line. Previously, he served as president and CEO of the Grass Valley Group, a subsidiary company within Tektronix Inc. until its acquisition by Thomson. Thorsteinson was with Tektronix from 1991 to 2001.
