Sling Media Seeks to Enhance Slingbox 'Experience'

Sling Media Inc., a digital lifestyle products company in San Mateo, Calif., has hired Jason Hirschhorn as president and Benjamin White chief creative officer for the newly created Sling Media Entertainment Group.

The Sling Media Entertainment Group was formed to define and create more engaging experiences for Slingbox customers. The team is tasked with delivering entirely new applications and services enabled by Slingbox's marriage of familiar TV programming and richly interactive Web-connected devices. The group is also managing Sling Media's collaborative efforts with content creators, distributors and advertisers.

Hirschhorn's prior experience includes a founding partner at TripleH Media Advisors, and chief digital officer at MTV Networks. Hirschhorn joined MTV Networks in March 2000 via the acquisition of his company, Mischief New Media, a Web site design and content development firm.

Prior to joining Sling Media, White was vice president of Digital Media for MTV Networks and was responsible for managing MTV Networks brand's digital business including programming, production and product development. Most recently, he oversaw the launch of MTV Overdrive. White's prior experience ranges from new media, to publishing, to film and music.

"Jason and Ben were some of the key leaders behind MTV's expansion into the online world and the combination of their experience and forward thinking adds a powerful new dimension to Sling Media," said Blake Krikorian, co-founder, chairman and CEO of Sling Media.
