January 14, 2005
TiVo Chairman and CEO Michael Ramsay is stepping down as the TV services leader and is putting a succession plan into action.
Ramsay will remain CEO until the company selects his successor and he will also retain his position as chairman of the board.
Serving as its CEO since TiVo was founded in 1997, Ramsay led the company while it introduced digital video recorders (DVRs) to the marketplace, making TiVo a household name.
By the end of October of last year, there were more than 2.3 million TiVo subscription services, according to TiVo.
