Systems integrator A.F. Associates (AFA) has created a new division, the Entertainment Solutions Group, to expand its consulting, design and integration services into location-based entertainment industries, including hotels, theaters, restaurants and sports and recreation facilities.
Already established as a provider of engineering, integration and design servies to the production community, the new division will allow AFA to target the expanding array of services that are increasing their use of multimedia.
"These days, the lines between broadcast, Internet, broadband, satellite services and entertainment 3/4 in a multitude of venues 3/4 have virtually disappeared," says Tom Canavan, president of AF Associates. These businesses require our types of services more and more, in order to be competitive in their media-related use of technology."
AFA named former Showorks Entertainment Group executive Howard Schlieper to head up the new group.
