CALM Act

Cable is frequently worse than broadcast for loud commercials and uneven commercial loudness. The worst, of course, is commercially-supported online TV.

The CALM Act is nothing new, especially to those who have been working on loudness management for years.

File-based loudness processing, as one might expect, operates on audio files, either standalone, or extracted from an audio/video file such as MXF.

Here we are at the beginning of 2015, and as with all new years it is fashionable to analyze how the previous year went and take a look at how this new one might unfold.
