Sundance Digital plays major role in TVW digital upgrade

Sundance Digital has announced that a Titan automation system now sits at the heart of the new digital infrastructure at the Washington Public Affairs Network (TVW). The Olympia, WA, station upgraded its outdated analog systems when it recently moved from its old facility, a 5000sq ft former bowling alley, into a 15,000sq ft production studio across the street. The network went on-air from its new facilities late last year.

Titan automation is driving a 300-hour Omneon video server as well as remotely monitoring playback, the fiber infrastructure and its routing switchers. The system installed at TVW also automates the archiving process by managing the movement of content between the Omneon play-to-air server and near-line storage.

TVW provides unedited TV and Web coverage of state government deliberations and public policy events, as well as more than 2000 hours of original programming, annually to more than 98 percent of the cable households in the state (more than 3 million potential viewers) on a 24/7 schedule.
