RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg from Luxemburg has selected SGT for its newsroom project, scheduled to go on-air in the first quarter of this year. This project is being carried out in cooperation with BCE, RTL's in-house systems integrator. RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg, a private premium TV channel, broadcasts a variety of programs including two hours of live programming every day.
SGT's Media Manager and News Automation are interfaced to Norcom's NCPower NRCS using the MOS protocol. Two Quantel sQ video servers provide storage and interface to a StorageTek tape library using Front Porch Digital DIVArchive.
The ability to share data between SGT, Quantel and Norcom has proven to be critical for the news channel. SGT has developed an ActiveX component, which allows every NCPower client to browse the low-resolution media stored on Quantel servers.
