Scientific-Atlanta launches Digital Content Manager

Scientific-Atlanta is continuing to expand its role as a supplier of digital content contribution and distribution systems.

At IBC2005, attendees will be able to take a closer look at the company’s MPEG-4 AVC encoders, new options for both IPTV headends and set-tops, multiple service transport systems and other bandwidth-saving innovations for triple-play services.

IBC2005 will also see the European launch of the company’s new Digital Content Manager (DCM) MPEG processing platform.

The DCM offers easy management and the highest capacity in the industry with transrating capabilities up to 2000 SD services in one unit. It can transrate up to 500 HD services or any mix of SD and HD services.

The DCM will be central to the Scientific-Atlanta stand and will be accompanied by system demonstrations in applications such as IPTV Headends, DVB-T, digital program insertion (DPI) and cable headends.

New improvements to Scientific-Atlanta’s IntelliRate transrating quality, as well as integrated redundancy schemes on service, network and component levels will also be shown.
