Riedel adds MADI card to Artist intercom platform

Riedel Communications will showcase a MADI card for its Artist digital matrix intercom platform at AES2007. The new MADI Client Card underscores the company’s strategy of enabling easy integration of its advanced digital intercoms into the broadcast studio environment.

The new interface allows tight integration of the Artist intercom platform with digital audio router systems. All Artist intercom control panels are connected to the matrix via standard AES3 signals, making it possible to connect intercom panels directly to the router and distribute multichannel audio signals without laying additional cables, thus saving significantly on cabling and interface costs. The MADI-108 G2 client card can be cascaded, with each card adding eight audio channels to the MADI signal, up to a maximum of 64 channels. The MADI connection from the client card to the audio router is handled via coaxial or fiber cabling.
