New online resource aims at identifying competent uplinkers

The Satellite Users Interference Group (SUIRG) has launched a registry of satellite uplinkers aimed at helping satellite operators and services companies locate uplinkers worldwide.

The Global Uplinker Registry is a two-way industry resource that provides regional or local uplinkers with a central means of increasing visibility on a global scale, while expanding the supply chain for operators, broadcasters and occasional service providers.

SUIRG is a non-profit association dedicated to combating satellite interference, and its new registry is intended to identify uplink providers with a track record of competency and interference-free operation. According to the association, faulty equipment or minimal technical training, particularly in emerging regions of the globe, are major sources of satellite RF interference. The SUIRG Global Uplinker Registry is free to uplinkers and searchers, although a password is required for initial enrollment.

Uplinkers wishing to enroll can visit http://suirg.org/uplinkrequest.shtml.

Those seeking an uplink service can search the registry at: www.suirg.org/search.php.
