A Mackie d8b digital eight-buss mixing console was used on the inaugural broadcast at Jazz at Lincoln Center, televised live on PBS.
The $128 million Frederick P. Rose Hall, a 100,000sq ft palace, occupies two floors of the new Time-Warner building in New York's Columbus Circle.
This the first performance and education facility designed specifically for jazz. Veteran mix engineer Ed Green oversaw the broadcast using a Mackie d8b on the ground floor, taking live feeds from more than 150 microphones on the 5th floor. An NPR live feed was also mixed through two Mackie 32x8 analog mixers.
