Link Research to roll out wireless camera fiber-optic interface
By TVTechnology published
At IBC2006, Link Research will highlight its new fiber-optic interface units that allow antennas and downconverters to be located farther away from an OB site and linked back to their receivers via fiber-optic cable.
The fiber-optic remote units supply power to the downconverters and can be configured for two- or four-input systems. The remote units are self-powering up to 1.24mi using SMPTE HDTV hybrid fiber cables and come in a weatherproof housing for outdoor use.
The fiber-optic interface units can be used with other Link equipment to operate cellular newsgathering networks for wireless cameras in cities.
