HHB FlashMic making inroads in interviews

HHB's FlashMic digital recording microphone combines a high-quality Sennheiser omnidirectional microphone capsule with an in-built broadcast-quality Flash recorder. The FlashMic provides an easy-to-operate, all-in-one recording solution for field production.

Currently, reporter Stuart Alexander of The Independent, a British newspaper, is using a FlashMic to cover the round-the-world Volvo Ocean Race for yachts. Like many print journalists, Alexander is experiencing a growing requirement to produce audio clips for Web content and finds that FlashMic gets great results on many levels, not the least of which is its authoritative appearance, which seems to put his subjects at ease.

At the recent Classical BRIT Awards at London's Royal Albert Hall, Classic FM Magazine journalist Sarah Kirkup used the FlashMic to capture red carpet interviews with classical music stars like Plácido Domingo and Lesley Garrett as they arrived at this prestigious event. Kirkup was impressed with the unit’s sound quality and ease of use, making it as useful for transcribing as it is for on-air actualities.

The HHB FlashMic is designed with fast, simple drag-and-drop file transfer and comes with FlashMic Manager software. Eight hours of power comes from a pair of AA batteries. HHB products are distributed by Sennheiser USA in the Americas.
