Fairlight adds software update, new partners at NAB

In a move that extends the capabilities of Fairlight's Dream II platform, the Australian company announced the release of Dream II software version 1.1 at NAB2007. New features include direct, seamless AAF and AES-31 file interchange, eliminating the need for time-consuming file conversion in workflow-intensive broadcast and post environments.

Dream II v1.1 also provides a choice of Constellation-XT, Anthem Split or Anthem EQs on any channel, each providing a distinctive flavor and character. The software also adds enhanced mouse-based automation to Fairlight's entry-level SatelliteAV systems, making it the preferred choice when extensive tactile control is not required.

Fairlight has also announced agreements with two German software manufacturers, Ableton and Native Instruments, as gold-level members of the company's partner program. The program is designed to enable easy connectivity between partner firm products and the Dream II product family.

Powered by the firm's unique CC-1 Crystal Core engine, the Fairlight Dream II product platform is designed for HD-compliant media creation with a low cost of ownership, using Fairlight's tactile control and mixing surfaces.
