Verizon introduces HD transport service
Verizon Business has launched Hi-Def DVTS, a high-definition digital video transport service for broadcasters, entertainment companies and other businesses, in 13 northeast and mid-atlantic states.
The new service addresses the need to transport video content cost-effectively without the use of compression equipment and without affecting the quality of the video.
The service is available in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, West Virginia and Vermont.
Hi-Def DVTS, provided via fiber-optic facilities, is well suited for broadcast networks to transport HD video and audio signals to affiliate stations or a satellite uplink/downlink, or to transport video from a sports or entertainment venue to a production facility.
