U.K.-based ITV4 on-air with Quartz routers and master control

The Quartz QMC master control switcher offers full key and logo options to support the on-screen look of ITV4.

Quartz has supplied ITV with a master control and routing infrastructure for the playout of its new channel, ITV4. Launched in November, ITV4 complements sister channels ITV1, 2 and 3, and offers a wide variety of entertainment content.

Two Quartz Xenon routers, with 128x64 configuration, has redundant power supplies and redundant controllers that serve as the main and backup router for the new channel.

The Quartz QMC master control switcher offers full key and logo options to support the on-screen look of the ITV brand and provide the entire presentation output for ITV4. The presentation suite is monitored via a multi-viewer on two TFT screens.

The QMC is managed by a specially extended Quartz SC-1000 system controller, configured in the same way as an existing SC-1000 that already handles the Quartz routing infrastructure for the ITV regions.
