Gemstar-TV Guide and Time Warner Cable inked a long-term licensing and distribution agreement that allows Time Warner Cable to use Gemstar-TV Guide's interactive program guide (IPG) on its networks.
Alternately, Time Warner Cable will incorporate the company's intellectual property, TV Guide brand and content onto its own IPGs or alternative IPG products supplied by vendors. Included in the content provided by TV Guide will be TV Guide On-Demand, which features program information, previews, reviews and recommendations. The companies plan to work toward developing and deploying IPG advertising that capitalizes on the IPG medium.
