The Switch Offers 270 Mbps Connectivity

The Switch, a high-speed connectivity provider, has announced that it is now offering 270 Mbps fiber between its New York and Miami locations.

The increased speed was made possible with the completion of a 2.5 Gbps fully protected SONET ring that is based on OC-48 technology and provides 16 video paths between the two nodes. This enhanced capability makes possible 270 Mpbs SDI connectivity between all cities passed on The Switch’s circuit.

"The Switch continues to grow in this tough economy because we offer our customers a cost-effective way to self-manage their service and keep costs down via our ICOD," said Scott Beers, president and CEO of Beers Enterprises, owner/operator of The Switch. "ICOD is a revolutionary transmission service that allows customers to select 8 Mbps, 20 Mbps and 270 Mbps through touch-screen control computers eliminating the need to call a carrier. ICOD can be engaged for any length of time without incurring minimum transmission fees."
