Technology Advisory Council Meeting Focuses on Broadband

Readers interested in wireless broadband may want to attend (in person or online) Thursday's FCC Technology Advisory Council meeting, starting at 10:00 a.m. The agenda opens with a discussion of wireline broadband technology, but will move quickly to discussions of Wi-Max presented by David Borth from Motorola and municipal Wi-Fi networks by Dewayne Hendricks from Dandin Group. Following these presentations, the Council plans to devote 30 minutes for an open discussion between Council members and the speakers. The afternoon session starts at 1:15 p.m. with Stagg Newman's presentation on the State of Technology Development for Fixed and Wireless Broadband and Bill Hancock's discussion of broadband security issues.
