Spain set to see launch of pay DTT

Spanish digital technology companies SIDSA and Secuenzia have joined forces to develop a technology application for the launch of pay DTT in Spain — possibly as soon as later on this year.

Both companies have jointly developed a Conditional Access technology that will allow the distribution of DTT content and offer broadcasters a new business model with extra revenues streams in addition to advertising. The system operates on a pay per subscription or per events basis.

The CAS technology on offer from SIDSA and Secuenzia, has been specifically developed with DTT in mind and can support a number of business models, including subscription, pay-per-view and pay per event. It will make pay DTT a reality for a range of different players: TV channels, operators and electronic manufacturers.
