Consumer Electronics Association president and CEO Gary Shapiro has been appointed to the U.S. Department of Commerce's Spectrum Management Advisory Committee.
President George W. Bush created the Spectrum Management Advisory Committee to provide recommendations on issues regarding spectrum management, reform and policy. The committee members represent a cross-section of stakeholders and will act as liaisons to the federal government.
