Sears to try in-store HDTV

Sears, the troubled retailer attempting to remake its image for upscale consumers, is turning to HDTV for an image boost.

Premier Retail Networks (PRN) plans to deliver high-definition programming to 870 Sears' stores throughout the nation. EchoStar Communications, through its DISH Network Business Solutions division, is set to provide the HD satellite feeds.

Reports say the new system will allow Sears to update programming segments by geographic region and store location to give customers timely information and better targeted advertising.
