Satellite Update - May 29, 2009

From FCC Report SAT-00604:

EchoStar filed an application to modify its Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS) authorization for EchoStar 5 to relocate it from the 148 degrees west longitude (WL) location to 147.925 degrees WL. The satellite will continue to operate on DBS channels 1 to 32 in the 12.2 to 12.7 GHz (space-to-Earth) and 17.3-17.8 GHz (Earth-to-space) frequency bands.

From FCC Report SAT-00606:

PanAmSat withdrew its request to relocate Galaxy 11 to 84.9 degrees WL in the first quarter of 2011 and to operate it on conventional C-band frequencies from that location.

From Order and Authorization (DA 09-1132):

The FCC granted Intelsat North America LLC authority to construct, launch and operate a 17/24 GHz Broadcasting Satellite Service (BSS) space station at 95.15 degrees WL at reduced power and without full interference protection. This is an interesting grant and there are a number of conditions attached to the license.
