Satellite Update
By TVTechnology published
Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. applied for authority to launch and operate Sirius FM-5 at 95 degrees WL to provide satellite digital audio radio services to subscribers in the United States. The satellite will use 7025-7075 MHz for Earth-to-space communications with downlinks in the 2320.0-2332.5 MHz band. Sirius requested streamline processing of the application similar to that used for replacement satellites, without a processing round and without the imposition of milestones or bond requirement, according to FCC Report SAT-00386.
The only FCC actions in FCC Report SAT-00387 involved assignment of DBS satellite authorizations from EchoStar Satellite Operating Corporation to EchoStar Satellite LLC and from DirecTV Enterprises LLC to The DirecTV Group Inc./The News Corp. Ltd.
