Satellite Update

The FCC granted PanAmSat's application to construct, launch and operate hybrid C- and Ku-band Galaxy 16 at 99 degrees west longitude.

The FCC said SES Americom met its Launch and Operate milestone for satellite license S2610, AMC-23. SES Americom notified the FCC in early February that it had completed testing of AMC-23 at 170 degrees WL and was in the process of drifting it to its licensed orbital location at 172 degrees East Longitude (EL).

For additional information on these actions and receipt of a $5 million performance bond from Orbimage required by Orbimage's authorization to launch and operate its non-geostationary orbit satellite see FCC Report SAT-00345.
