New York City’s tri-state area diners toast successful signage network
By TVTechnology published
Diner Vision, a digital signage network installed in family diners, is thriving in metro New York City’s tri-state area. Two years ago, OOH Vision Networks launched the Diner Vision digital signage network based on a business model funded by ad sales. The network aimed to capitalize on idle time spent by patrons waiting for their tables.
Today, each participating diner location runs local and regional advertising mixed with public service announcements, news, weather, sports and traffic information in waiting areas. According to OOH Vision Networks, the perceived wait time at restaurants has been reduced, while sales and profitability at stores has increased.
The network is built using the MediaSignage solution from Helius and is connected using the Microspace Velocity point-to-multipoint satellite network. Ad content is updated daily, and news, weather, sports and traffic information is updated every 30 minutes.
