Final traffic figures released April 10 show 7.52 million unique visitors went to the NCAA March Madness on Demand video player, a 58 percent increase from the level achieved last year.
The time spent watching games via the player also enjoyed a dramatic increase from 2008 levels with 8.6 million hours of video and audio consumers, an increase of 75 percent, according to figures from CBSSports.com.
The figures also revealed that the total number of hours of audio and video consumed during the semifinal and championship games of the men’s tournament reached 515,000, up 51 percent from 2008 levels.
The “Boss Button” feature, which allows those to watching at work to hide the video player with a single click, again proved to be popular with 2.77 million clicks for the entire tournament, up from 2.5 million in 2008.
