By TVTechnology published
Multicast Technologies, an Internet broadcasting and data distribution company, will initiate the industry's first commercial MPEG-4 multicast on its new MPEG-4 video channel at http://www.on-the-i.tv, beginning March 1.
The first broadcast will cover the Future of Music Coalition Policy Summit, which chose Multicast to videotape the coalition's January meeting for broadband distribution. The Summit will be followed by music and entertainment programming.
``Multicast Technologies is excited to kick off the first commercial multicast MPEG-4 channel using the content from the Future of Music Coalition,'' said Marshall Eubanks, Co-Founder and CEO of Multicast Technologies. ``This MPEG-4 channel opens a revenue source for ISPs by making purchasing by the viewer easy. MPEG-4 also provides clear, DVD quality video.''
