‘Madagascar’ Breaks Big Into Blu-ray Sales

The computer-animated “Madagascar” sequel from DreamWorks Animation and Paramount quickly assumed the top spot in the Blu-ray Top 10 sales list the first week it was out on disc, with Blu-ray sales record-holder “The Dark Knight” continuing to hold on to one of the three top slots for several consecutive weeks.

The three-disc Bourne trilogy moved up from 10th to 8th—a feat more impressive than it might at first appear since the packaged content carries an MSRP of $120.

1. “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa” (DreamWorks Animation/Paramount)
