Localism Hearing Set for Maine

published The FCC’s next localism hearing will be held June 28 in Portland, Maine.
The topic is related to the commission’s open media ownership proceeding. The point of the hearing, said the agency, is to ask consumer, industry, civic organizations and others about broadcasters’ service to their local communities.
The FCC has also held localism forums in Los Angeles, Nashville, Harrisburg, Pa. and Tampa-St. Petersburg, Fla. The hearings were launched under former Chairman Michael Powell’s regime.
