LG Electronics, Harris submit MPH to ATSC for consideration
LG Electronics and Harris, joint developers of the MPH in-band mobile digital television system, have submitted a proposal to the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) for a standard that would let broadcasters provide digital television signals to mobile and portable devices.
The ATSC Technology and Standards Group requested proposals from companies offering systems that allow delivery of television content and data to mobile, pedestrian and handheld devices via the digital TV broadcast signal. LG and Harris submitted a proposal detailing their technology for the delivery of mobile and handheld DTV, which is backwards compatible to the current standard.
