Jefferson Pilot Sports, a Southeastern entertainment and sports production company, recently upgraded its flagship Unit 4 truck with the purchase of eight Ikegami HK-388W cameras. The cameras will help JP Sports improve its coverage of the ACC and SEC athletic conferences.
JP Sports will employ a combination of the Ikegami 388W's instant 4:3/16:9 switchability and newly developed 640,000 pixel 2/3-inch FIT CCDs. Additionally, a 10-MHz ultrawideband component triax system will deliver high-resolution pictures, even at long cable lengths. The 388W uses digital circuits extensively.
The production company cited the camera's switchability, high resolution and superior imagery, along with previous contracts with Ikegami, as factors behind the purchase.
