HDTV for under $1K
By TVTechnology published
It took several years, but finally, in 2003, high-definition television receivers have cracked the $1,000 barrier at retail. By the coming Christmas holidays, dealers will be bombarding their customers with new HDTV promotions.
The current low-cost HDTV offering in the U.S. will be coming from Samsung, a CE manufacturer now selling a 27-inch model in the standard 4:3 picture format for $699. The company also offers a 30-inch HD wide-screen model and a 32-inch 4:3 HD model, each of them for $999.
