Guam Gets its HDTV this Week

HD makes its debut, albeit with a modest entry, on the island of Guam this week (July 10) as MCV Broadband marks what it is telling Guam residents is the “biggest leap forward for television since color.”

“MCV HD will provide our customers with the HD programming they need to truly experience what their HDTVs can do,” said Craig Thompson, CEO of MCV Broadband in a statement. “We are proud to be the first to deliver high definition television to Guam.” (We’re not sure how fierce the competition is, but there’s bound to be some.)

MCV HD will offer a very spare menu of HD channels to begin with, to include:

  • ESPN HD
  • ESPN2 HD
  • Discovery Theater HD
  • A & E HD
  • Universal HD
