Front Porch Digital to Adopt SMPTE Digital Archive Standard

Front Porch Digital recently said it will adopt the SMPTE standard for digital archive management once it's approved.

Front Porch has provided senior company technical experts to work with the SMPTE V16 Archive Ad Hoc Group, that authored the standard. The company has also been sharing information gained through its experience in managing migration of archival material with its DIVArchive system.

"Front Porch Digital is supporting the SMPTE archive standards initiative for one simple reason: It is in the best interest of our customers," said Mike Knaisch, Front Porch president and CEO. "We guarantee that when new standards are developed and approved by SMPTE, our DIVArchive application will be adapted to comply as quickly as possible. We know this is what our customers expect from the global leader in broadcast archive management, and it is a responsibility we intend to live up to."

Front Porch is the first broadcast archive management vender to commit to the new standard.

Front Porch has deployed more than 145 DIVArchive systems in 40 countries and has demonstrated interoperability with a variety of third-party broadcast devices and applications.
