FCC Satellite Forum Focuses on Role of Satellite in Everyday Communication

Satellite users and operators may be interested in the FCC's second annual Satellite Forum, which will be held at Meeting Room 445 in the commission's Washington, D.C. headquarters on March 21. It will have four sessions featuring discussions and interactive demonstrations of satellite based communications services.

The mobility session focuses on satellite services that provide high-tech communications capabilities to consumers on the move, whether in trains, planes or automobiles. An integrated services session will look at communications that serve consumers and business by combining satellite and other technologies. Global solutions will be covered in a session that looks at the role satellites play in providing instant infrastructure and disaster relief in the developing world. New and cutting edge consumer devices being deployed for satellite communications will be discussed in the portability session.

No advance reservations or registration is required for the all day event (10:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.). For more information on the Satellite Forum and how to attend in person or by Webcast, refer to the FCC Public Notice FCC Announces Satellite Forum to be held March 21, 2005.
