The FCC has approved Raycom Media’s plans to buy Liberty.
Privately held Raycom is paying $1 billion to buy the Greenville, SC-based broadcast company. Liberty shareholders approved the deal last month. With the FCC's blessing, Montgomery, AL-based Raycom expects to complete the purchase within 20 days.
Liberty owns 15 network-affiliated television stations.
