FastChannel Sends TV Spots Over IP

FastChannel Network, a provider of digital creative, delivery and management services for the advertising industry, is launching an Internet-based delivery system for video advertising. The system rounds out the company's TrafficChannel line of video, audio and print delivery services.

The service lets advertisers and TV stations send and receive commercial video and was designed in collaboration with IBM and Telestream. The technology gives advertisers a single online entry point to deliver, track and manage their video, print and audio advertising media, according to FastChannel.

The online video distribution system includes MPEG-2 video files encoded at 4:2:2 at 18 Mbps, a single price for online and offline delivery, one hour or next day delivery, digital output, searchable, media management library tools, automated and on-demand spot retrieval and 1000 spot storage capacity on the Video Server's RAID array of drives, among others.

Needham, Mass.-based FastChannel Network provides the advertising industry with a network of more than 5,000 advertisers and agencies, 9,100 broadcast stations and 5,400 newspapers with offices around the U.S. and in London and Toronto.
