Experimental License Grants

There are few, if any, license grants affecting broadcasters in the FCC Office of Engineering and Technology's list of experimental grants between 1/1/2007 and 2/1/2007.

One of the more interesting licenses went to Tethers Unlimited for use of 2401.2 to 2483.5 MHz for a "Multi-Application Survivable Tether" experiment using the CubeSat platform. The system will operate mobile in low-Earth orbit.

Several licenses were granted for use of 1575.42 MHz for testing radionavigation satellite service equipment and systems in Chandler, Ariz. and Davenport, Iowa. Solectek Corp. received a license to operate in the 3400-3600 MHz band for testing WiMAX equipment designed for export.

See the FCC's list of experimental grants for information on other licenses.
