Euphonix Professional Series benefits from Apple EuCon support

Apple’s new Final Cut Studio and Logic Studio now feature EuCon control protocol support for console manufacturer Euphonix’s Professional Series of consoles and controllers. While Logic Pro has included native EuCon support for more than two years, this latest release from Apple adds EuCon support for the Final Cut Pro, Soundtrack Pro, Color and Logic Express programs. The integration of EuCon Ethernet control into these video and music suites provides seamless, console-based control for the entire range of Euphonix products from the Artist Series media controllers to the MC Pro, System 5-MC, S5 Fusion and the System 5 digital audio mixing system.

The MC Pro and System 5-MC are both Ethernet controllers that change their surface to match the application in focus. The MC Pro is the professional version of the new Euphonix Artist Series MC Control and is at the heart of the System 5-MC. It has 56 programmable SmartSwitches for fast and easy access to keystroke commands and macros, eight softknobs for plug-ins, pan and aux send control, touch screen, joysticks and shuttle/jog wheel. The System 5-MC adds channel strips to an MC Pro with eight knobs and high-res TFT displays per channel. The S5 Fusion and System 5 include external DAW control via EuCon as well as DSP channels, I/O, machine control and a digital router/patchbay.

Euphonix has worked closely with software developers including Apple, Steinberg, MOTU and others to integrate native EuCon support into their media applications to provide high-resolution, high-speed control over almost all software functions. EuCon also supports the HUI and Mackie Control protocols for even greater flexibility.
