ESPN has kicked off its first season of “Monday Night Football” using a variety of Thomson Grass Valley HD production equipment that’s been selected by NEP Supershooters.
The inaugural season of ESPN’s “Monday Night Football,” which began Aug. 14, is being broadcast in the 720p HD format. Each of the four pre-season and 17 regular season games will feature full surround sound audio and HD slow-motion live images, displayed within seconds.
For the HD production, NEP Supershooters, located in Pittsburgh, is dispatching its SS-25 HD truck, which includes a Grass Valley Kalypso HD Video Production Center switcher, 20 LDK 6000 mk II WorldCam HD cameras, four Grass Valley LDK 6200 HD Super SloMo digital cameras, a Grass Valley Trinix 160x128 HD video router and an assortment of Gecko and Kameleon signal conversion modules.
NEP’s 52ft, all digital SS-25HD mobile production truck will capture all of the live action in the 720p HD format for “Monday Night Football.” It also is equipped to produce multichannel audio in the Circle Surround format.
