The European Space Agency (ESA) has added its voice to calls for Europe to adopt DVB-H as the pan-national standard for broadcasting to mobile handsets.
ESA plans to invest in the development of the S band based variant DVB-SH, and Eutelsat has commissioned a new satellite for launch in 2009 that would be capable of broadcasting DVB-SH.
