Enforcement Bureau fines RadioShack $16,000 for warning label violation

Electronics retailer RadioShack “apparently willfully and repeatedly violated” FCC rules by failing to post a warning to consumers that certain analog TV receiving equipment did not also have DTV tuners, said the FCC’s Enforcement Bureau.

The bureau Oct. 15 released a Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture finding the retailer apparently liable for $16,000 for violating the rules.

According to the Enforcement Bureau, on June 12 — after previously receiving citations warning of violations of the warning message rules in its stores nationwide — the retailer offered an analog-only tuner piece of equipment without the required warning label.
