Cordillera Communications Chooses Ross for HD News

Cordillera Communications has selected Ross Video Synergy 4 multidefinition production switchers for airing local news in hi-def at two Cordillera broadcast outlets.

KVOA-TV in Tucson, Ariz. and WLEX-TV in Lexington, Ky. are currently installing the new production switchers and a springtime launch of the new technology is currently planned.

Both of the stations will become the first in their respective markets to broadcast local news blocks in high definition.

"We have had an exceptional experience working with Ross Video for many years," said Andrew Suk, vice president of engineering and operations at Cordillera. "Ross has quality products with excellent support. When the decision was made to go HD, it only made sense to purchase Ross. To transition to HD is significant, and Ross will play an important role."

The switchers purchased for the HD upgrade feature 4 M/E, 3D DVEs, internal image storing and support for both standard- and high-definition operations.
