CEA, CNET answer consumers’ digital TV questions

The Consumer Electronics Association and CNET are working together to produce an interactive buying guide to help ease consumers into digital television and answer their questions about the technology before they enter a store.

The guide, part of the MyCEknowhow buying guide series, is highly interactive and rich in Flash media. In addition to researching products, consumers can print out PDF summaries that serve as a checklist they can take into the store.

Research has consistently shown a high level of confusion among early adopters of HDTVs. One notable example is a survey from Scientific-Atlanta that showed a sizeable portion of respondents thought the on-screen super saying a show is available in HDTV meant they were watching the show in HDTV.
