CBS Ramps Up HD Graphics With Accom ProServ

CBS is purchasing the Accom ProServ MX.8 HD/SD video production server as part of its efforts in converting one of its production rooms to HD.

The purchase includes the ProServ MX.8 with Accom EasyClip software and is configured with four symmetrical HD video channels and eight tracks of uncompressed audio per video channel and a total of 54 hours of HD storage. The system will help the network improve the level of graphical content in its live HD telecasts. In addition to ProServ MX.8, CBS's new HD control room is also equipped with a dual-twin Accom Dveous/MX for digital video effects.

Greg Smith, broadcast products marketing manager for Accom said that the company is helping broadcasters like CBS, "take the HD transition in their stride without making compromises in the way they work."
