Canadian Broadcaster Deploys Avid iNEWS
By TVTechnology published
Canadian broadcaster CHUM has selected Avid iNEWS for its newsroom automation system.
The broadcaster purchased and installed the automation system for its flagship station, Citytv Toronto and CKVR in Barrie, Ontario.
This is not CHUM's first Avid iNEWS installation. CFPL--CHUM's London, Ontario-based station--has been using the system for more than four years, according to Bruce Cowan, director, broadcast technology, CHUM Television. The broadcaster also uses more than 50 Media Composer systems, two Avid DS systems and one Avid DS HD system for editing and finishing features or special projects.
"We look forward to migrating other CHUM stations to iNEWS in the months ahead," he said.
CHUM Limited owns and operates 12 local TV stations and 21 specialty channels.
