The International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers (IABM) said the financial performance of the supply side of the broadcast and media technology grew 16 percent in year-on-year sales.
The organization said the growth reaches 23 percent when the mean is calculated to reflect the higher percentage growth in smaller companies.
The IABM's industry index tracks a basket of more than 40 member and non-member companies and aggregates their year-on-year profit and sales performance. This includes businesses in Belgium, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Israel, Canada and the United States.
The IABM said 49 percent of companies in the initial survey recorded profits for both the latest and previous 12-month period (operating profit before interest and tax), with 24 percent profitable for this latest 12-month period that were loss-making in the previous period.
