Many films created with the Avid Digidesign and Softimage product lines have been nominated for Academy Awards, according to the company.
Digidesign is a digital audio production system and Softimage is the content creation tool used for composting, rendering and more.
Films nominated in the Best Picture, Directing, Film Editing, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, Visual Effects and Best Animated Features categories used Avid tools to produce "The Aviator," "Million Dollar Baby, "Ray," "Sideways" among others.
"Because many of our engineers and product designers are filmmakers themselves, we're able to innovate new products--and entire production workflows," said David Krall, president and CEO, Avid.
